Before entering the real estate industry, Mr. Gibbs worked at the Department of Energy in various senior executive positions between 1981 and 1993, culminating as deputy director of the Super Collider project in Texas. He began his career in 1967, working as a civilian at the Pacific Missile Test Center in California for the United States Navy from 1967 to 1977 and at the Navy High Energy Laser program office until 1980. Before beginning his vocational journey, Mr. Gibbs pursued a formal education, beginning with his time at the University of North Dakota, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in 1965 and a Master of Science in 1967. He subsequently continued his studies at the United States Naval War College and graduated in 1975 with the highest distinction. In concluding his collegiate career, Mr. Gibbs achieved a second Master of Science at the University of Southern California in 1977. In addition to his academic credentials, he was designated as a certified financial planner in 1995. To commemorate some of his earliest accomplishments in the field, Mr. Gibbs was honored with an Invention Disclosure Award for an Explosion Driven Gas Dynamic Laser from the U.S. Navy in the late 1970s. In accounting for his achievements, he values his year spent at the Naval War College, his senior executive service with the Department of Energy and his contributions to the Santa Barbara real estate community. B olstered by over five decades of professional experience, Garry W. Gibbs has cultivated a career of excellence across several professional fields.
