As part of her continued dedication to her profession, Ms. Collado remains affiliated with several industry-related organizations, including the National Collage Society and the Global Art Project. Additionally, she was a board member of the National Association of Women Artists. Well-regarded for her accomplishments in the field of art, Ms. Collado was previously honored with the Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation Award and the Jackson Pollock Award in 1985. Throughout her career, Ms. Collado has operated under the guiding principle that “art is there to make you happy.” To this end, she largely attributes her success to her dedicated work ethic and passion for her craft. In accounting for her accomplishments, she is especially proud to have guided several other artists toward a career in the arts. She is also thankful to be able to continue in her work to the present day. In the coming years, Ms. Collado looks forward to attending more shows and exhibiting her work at more galleries, and she hopes to commit herself to more writing work to explain her artistic process. Ms. Collado has also notably displayed her work at Galerie Pro Arte Kasper in Switzerland in 1996 and 2004. Furthermore, in the early 2000s, she presented at the Cathedral Center for the Arts in Phoenix, Arizona, and had her work featured in “East Meets West” at The Emerging Collector in New York City and “Collage Paintings” at the Hamilton House Museum in Clifton, New Jersey. Prior to embarking on her vocational journey, Ms. Collado pursued a formal education, beginning with her time at Harvard University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in comparative literature in 1966.
