Rodriguez has cultivated a fulfilling career in the fields of hospitality and restaurant ownership. Since 2002, she has served as the owner of Penny’s All American Café in Pismo Beach, California. As the head of the family-owned business, she has curated a friendly, casual dining environment, with a strong focus on delicious food and good company. Ms. Rodriguez is truly grateful to have managed her restaurant for many years alongside her husband, daughter and two sons. In addition to founding her own company, Ms. Rodriquez previously worked at another local restaurant for nine years. Adjacent to her primary vocational endeavors, she heavily emphasizes the importance of civic advocacy and giving back to her community. To this end, she has participated with the Jacqualyn Palchak Breast Cancer Fund, the California Central Coast chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, and the Association of Amputee Surfers (AmpSurf). Furthermore, Ms. Rodriguez maintains membership with the Pismo Beach Chamber of Commerce. The Pismo Beach Chamber of Commerce previously recognized Penny’s All American Café as Business of the Year in 2007 and 2019. Well-regarded for her consummate professionalism and dedication to excellence in customer service, Ms. Rodriguez was also honored with the Small Business of the Month Award from 35th District Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham. In light of her accomplished career, Ms. Rodriguez has largely attributed her success to her high-quality meals and her ability to treat others fairly. She is proud to have started working within her business as a server and to have subsequently risen to the head ownership position, having fully capitalized on her practiced expertise in the field. Ms. Rodriguez hopes to continue managing the café for several more years, after which she looks forward to retiring and spending more time with her grandchildren.
