Prior to her retirement, she served as executive director of the Helen-White County Chamber of Commerce, president of the August-Richmond County Convention and Visitors Bureau, and then president of the Gainesville-Hall County Convention and Visitors Bureau. She specialized in nonprofit initiatives, focused on promoting visitor and business travel destinations. Adjacent to her primary vocational endeavors, Ms. Hardman also excelled as a church pianist-organist and professional pianist throughout her career. Prior to beginning her career, she pursued a formal education, earning a degree in music at Furman University. Well-regarded for her accomplishments in the field of tourism, Ms. Hardman was recognized with the Honorary Tourism Award from the State of Georgia. Likewise, in accounting for her achievements, she is particularly proud to have excellence in two vocations, then ending her career as a member of the City Council in Dahlonega, Georgia.
