180 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine GOVERNMENT AND MILITARY DAVID ALAN HOLLAND LIEUTENANT COLONEL (RETIRED) United States Air Force Jacksonville, AR With over five decades of professional experience to his credit, David Alan Holland has cultivated a career of excellence in the field of military service. For the length of his professional career, he honorably served in the United States Air Force, initially joining in 1959 and achieving the rank of lieutenant colonel prior to retiring. Beginning as a pilot and officer after graduating from aviation cadet school, Mr. Holland received countless opportunities to rise through the ranks of the Air Force. Mr. Holland would subsequently fly every aircraft available in the military branch, including trainers, fighters, bombers and transport aircrafts. As part of his service, Mr. Holland notably completed pre-war activities in Vietnam, where he would later complete two tours of duty. After retiring from active duty, Mr. Holland took to civilian contract work, instructing other pilots of varying age and caliber in both initial and advanced flying maneuvers. To this end, he has operated with a local training organization for many years and earned the position of chief pilot for four years in the sole C-130 initial flying training squadron for the military. Mr. Holland is especially proud of the many pilots with whom he has worked and trained over the course of his career, and he affirms that his unique tactics and instructional methods have had a largely positive impact on the Air Force as a whole. Outside of his primary professional interests, Mr. Holland remains active within several local organizations in his community. He is particularly fond of bowling, having formerly served as the president of his local bowling association and of his regional bowling league for 20 years. He fondly recalls many games alongside friends and family, including a 300 game and a game in which he rolled 11 consecutive strikes. Well-regarded for his vocational accomplishments, Mr. Holland has been honored with several accolades over the course of his career, including a Silver Star, a Distinguished Flying Cross, a Bronze Star, three Meritorious Service Medals and six Air Medals.
