ATKINSON FOUNDER Day by Day in the Word Ministries Lyons, NE With over four decades of professional experience to his credit, Don E. Atkinson has cultivated a career of excellence in the fields of Christian service and ministry; Christian education; and soil, plant, water and animal conservation. His involvement in the first two fields of Christian service and ministry culminated in his founding of Day by Day in the Word Ministries in 2016. Subsequently, he published two expository devotionals, “Day by Day in Ephesians” and “Day by Day with Hebrews.” They were published in 2017 and 2022, respectively. Mr. Atkinson became a Christian at 10 years old while attending a children’s summer camp. Subsequently, he has been privileged to serve in the area of Christian service and ministry for five decades. He began teaching Sunday school classes in 1964. Additionally, he has taught adult Bible studies in various states over a 40year span. From 1975 to 1977, he served as the chaplain of his single adult Sunday school class in Tyler, Texas. In addition, he was involved in the production of its weekly, 30-minute radio broadcasts. These teaching sessions were broadcasted over radio stations in the Tyler area. Likewise, Mr. Atkinson has been involved in a lay preaching ministry since 1977, having preached in five U.S. states. In 2016, Mr. Atkinson felt led by God to found Day by Day in the Word Ministries, an evangelical, non-denominational, Christian ministry. Part of this leading was to write Christian educational materials to help fellow believers of all denominations. Mr. Atkinson advises that their need is great for this educational material because biblical literacy is at an all-time low in the United States. Further, he established a webpage, www. daybydayintheword.org, to help reach out to the worldwide public with his Christian educational resources. To educate fellow believers more effectively, he wrote his two devotionals in an expository format. In “Day by Day in Ephesians” and “Day by Day with Hebrews,” he covers every verse chronologically in Ephesians and Hebrews, respectively. His goal is to publish his third book, a Bible study guide, “Day by Day with Messianic Prophecies,” by the end of 2023.
