Adjacent to her primary professional endeavors, Ms. Soto also remains active in other communitycentered work, regularly volunteering with the Puerto Rican Parade, her local homeless shelter and other events focused on helping children. Wellregarded for her accomplishments and practiced expertise, she honorably received employee recognition from the City of Cleveland during Hispanic Heritage Month in 2022. Furthermore, she was featured in an interview with Telemundo Magazine Cleveland the same year. In light of her fulfilling career, Ms. Soto attributes much of her success to her family’s support. Additionally, in accounting for her accomplishments, she is particularly proud of all her work helping and serving others. In the coming years, Ms. Soto looks forward to earning a master’s degree and working more in immigration services. With several decades of professional experience to her credit, Yahaira Soto has cultivated a career of excellence in civic advocacy and community development. Since 2019, she has served as a Hispanic liaison for the Cleveland City Department of Aging in Ohio. In this role, she excels as a staunch advocate for her community, providing assistance to those in need and aiding the Hispanic community with navigating the local housing market. To this end, Ms. Soto has helped many individuals from Puerto Rico secure housing and work in her area, especially following events such as Hurricane Maria. Prior to her current appointment, Ms. Soto worked extensively with other communityfocused organizations, including the nonprofit Spanish American Committee and the Planning Committee of the City of Cleveland. She also previously worked extensively with Amotec, Inc., a recruiting agency, and with the HEAP and PIPP initiatives in Cleveland.
