42 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ARTS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT RENATE STRELAU HISTORICAL RESEARCHER, ARTIST Iranian Embassy Reseda, CA Drawing upon over five decades of professional experience, Renate Strelau has cultivated a prolific career in the fields of artistry and scientific research. For much of her career, she has excelled as a historical researcher and artist, having worked with various galleries, exhibitions and shows in the United States and India. With an acumen for political science and diplomacy, as well, Ms. Strelau also notably served as a research assistant for the Iranian Embassy in Washington, DC, from 1976 to 1980, during which time she analyzed news and wrote critical features that were subsequently distributed globally by the embassy. In all her professional endeavors, Ms. Strelau constantly capitalized on her critical thinking skills and abilities as an advisor. To this end, she consistently thrived in political science and diplomacy, notably cautioning her superiors for peace during the height of the Iranian Revolution. As an artist, she has created a plethora of imaginative, interdisciplinary pieces, drawing influence from the abstract expressionism movement that emerged in the United States during World War II. Ms. Strelau has been offered many opportunities to exhibit and present her work to the public and to her colleagues, including at scholarly conferences in 1995 in Annapolis, Maryland, and in 2007 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She conducted her first one-woman show at Café Espresso in Berkeley, California, in 1973, with subsequent shows following at Riggs Bank in Arlington, Virginia, from 1994 to 1995. More recently, Ms. Strelau exhibited her work in 2015 at the International Art Exhibit in Puttaparthy, India. Prior to embarking on her vocational journey, Ms. Strelau pursued a formal education. She began her studies at the University of California Berkeley, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science in 1974. She subsequently continued her collegiate career at the American University in Washington, DC, achieving a Master of Arts in American history and diplomacy in 1985 and a Master of Fine Arts in painting in 1991.
