Adjacent to his primary professional endeavors, Mr. Franco has also served as the director of communications and public relations for the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone Development Corporation since 2022. Prior to his current roles, he worked with American Airlines from 2008 to 2020, originally joining the organization as a customer service supervisor and later rising to the position of global corporate communications manager. Mr. Franco also contributed to the American Airlines Newsroom during his time with the company, authoring an article in 2016 and two more in 2019. At the onset of his career, Mr. Franco excelled as a revenue management specialist for the New Jersey Turnpike Authority from 2002 to 2012. Prior to embarking on his vocational journey, Mr. Franco pursued a formal education at the City University of New York, where he received a Bachelor of Science in broadcast journalism in 2007. In addition to his academic credentials, Mr. Franco earned a certification in crisis communications from the National Transportation Safety Board in 2016. Well-regarded for his accomplishments in the field, Mr. Franco was honored by City Year New York with an Excellence Award as a Corporate Social Responsibility Partner in 2019. Furthermore, New York City previously recognized him with a Hammer Service Award. Attributing much of his success to the experiences he has gained throughout his career, Mr. Franco is particularly proud to be able to continue helping others in his community in both of his current leadership positions.
