212 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS With more than five decades of professional experience to her credit, Dr. Anne Marie B. Hunter has cultivated a fulfilling career in clinical nutrition and education. She has been a medical nutrition therapist at hospitals and medical centers in New York, Boston, and Joplin, Missouri, and a nutrition and dietetics educator at the undergraduate and graduate levels at Missouri State University. Dr. Hunter has served as a master advisor, graduate research faculty member, and associate professor at Missouri State University, where she taught in the biomedical sciences department from 2009 until 2022 and in the public health and sports medicine department since 2022. Adjacent to her duties as an educator, Dr. Hunter has served as a consultant dietitian at St. Luke’s Nursing Center in Carthage, Missouri. Dr. Hunter originally began her career in 1969, working as a clinical dietitian for New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center until 1970. Since then, she has worked in obstetrics and gynecology at Boston City Hospital, radiation oncology at St. John’s Regional Medical Center, and the Missouri State Chest Hospital. Dr. Hunter has held leadership roles in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition. Prior to embarking on her vocational journey, Dr. Hunter pursued a formal education, beginning with her time at Saint Elizabeth’s University, where she earned a BS in foods and nutrition in 1968. She completed a dietetic internship in 1969 at New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center and received a Master of Science in nutrition and dietetics at the University of Kansas Medical Center in 1980. Dr. Hunter ultimately achieved a Doctor of Philosophy in nutrition at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 2009. To commemorate her accomplishments, Dr. Hunter has been honored with numerous accolades, including a 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Missouri Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and a 2017 Medallion Award from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She attributes her success to her education and mentors and is abundantly proud of her work in nutrition and dietetics. ANNE MARIE B.
