MEEKS Bolstered by more than 30 years of professional experience, Sandy G. Meeks has cultivated a fulfilling career in the field of education. From 1980 to 2009, she specialized in teaching a variety of subjects to students in San Angelo, Texas. Since retiring from the academic sector, Ms. Meeks has dedicated herself to her endeavors as an author. She recently published her first children’s book, “The Adventures of C.W.: Choices,” in 2022. Well-regarded for her professional accomplishments, Ms. Meeks was honored as Teacher of the Year of her school, Goliad Elementary, and recognized as an Outstanding Educator by the San Angelo Independent School District in 2009. She is a member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association. In 2022, she received an Outstanding Creator Award for her book. Ms. Meeks also continues to volunteer at the Neighbor’s Café, a local soup kitchen that provides meals to community members in need. In her own academic pursuits, she achieved a bachelor’s degree in elementary, health and physical education at Angelo State University in 1979. Attributing much of her success to her caring nature, she hopes to continue writing books and participating in her community in the coming years. Dr. F. DeWolfe Miller IV has cultivated a career of excellence in the field of education, with more than four decades of professional experience to his credit. Now retired from teaching full-time, he previously taught at the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa from 1984 to 2020. Since retiring, he has maintained the title of professor emeritus. Throughout his time in the field, Dr. Miller specialized in epidemiology, having achieved a PhD in the subject at the University of Michigan in 1979. Likewise, he holds an MPH in environmental health from the academic institution, where he also worked as an assistant professor between 1980 and 1984. Ever committed to his profession, Dr. Miller remains active as a fellow of the American College of Epidemiology. Well-regarded for his scholarly output as well, he has published numerous professional papers pertaining to his work, including a recent 2023 article in The Lancet. In his civic-minded endeavors, he participates with the Egyptian Red Crescent, notably traveling to Egypt in 2019 for a mission trip. Dr. Miller attributes much of his success to his persistence. F.
