191 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine GOVERNMENT AND MILITARY Today, Mr. Shumpert serves as a modeling and simulation officer, primarily working at Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, South Carolina. Mr. Shumpert previously served in various positions for the United States Army at Fort Stewart, Georgia; South Korea; Denver, Colorado; and Fort Knox, Kentucky. From 2012 to 2021, he excelled as a company commander, operations officer and exercise planner. As part of his dedication to his endeavors, Mr. Shumpert also remains active within several organizations, including the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States and the Marine Corps League. Likewise, in his civic-minded pursuits, he is an associate with the American Battlefield Trust and the Elks National Veterans Service Commission. Over the course of his career, Mr. Shumpert also pursued a formal education. After earning an associate degree at the University of South Carolina in Sumter, he subsequently received a Bachelor of Science in business administration at the University of South Carolina in Aiken in 2005. He ultimately achieved a Master of Arts in management and leadership at Webster University in 2018. In addition to his academic credentials, Mr. Shumpert holds numerous certifications in areas such as scenario development, simulation operations, support operations and ethics. Well-regarded for his accomplishments in the field, Mr. Shumpert has been honored with a plethora of accolades, most recently including his recognition as a Kentucky Colonel by Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear in 2022. In light of his fulfilling career, he has largely attributed his success to the support of his family and his efforts as a lifelong learner. E ric W. Shumpert has cultivated a fulfilling military career, with over 20 years of professional experience to his credit. He originally began his service in 1997, serving with the United States Marine Corps until 2001.
