Much of Mr. Gelvin’s work pertains to industrial sectors, such as automotive safety and telecommunications, as he focuses on reliability and manufacturability. Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Gelvin excelled as a technical program manager for UGS America Sales, Inc., from 2017 to 2020. At the onset of his career, he worked with Intel Corporation as a senior quality and reliability engineer from 1995 to 2007. He later served as a global commodity manager at Freescale Semiconductor from 2009 to 2014, having originally joined the company in 2007 as a senior packaging engineer. Freescale was subsequently merged into NXP Semiconductors, where Mr. Gelvin continued to work as a value engineering manager from 2014 to 2017. To remain abreast of key developments in his industry, Mr. Gelvin maintains affiliation with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. As part of his vocational endeavors, he holds a 2001 patent for paper substrates used in integrated circuit packaging and molding processes. Furthermore, he has co-authored several papers pertaining to his work in the field. Mr. Gelvin previously cultivated his formal education, studying at Arizona State University and achieving a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 1994 and a master’s degree in statistics in 2002. In his civic-minded pursuits, Mr. Gelvin regularly participates as a donor and volunteer coach with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Attributing much of his success to the support of his family and the guidance of his mentors, he is particularly proud of his professional development, having built many strong relationships throughout his time in the field.
