In the coming years, she hopes to use the company as a springboard to promote more diverse renewable energy and urban green space initiatives. Ms. Jemison also remains dedicated to her faith and to empowering others as a spiritual leader. She has been an ordained deacon for more than 25 years, an affirmed minister for over 20 years, and an ordained minister since 2017. Today, she serves as an associate minister at the Third New Hope Baptist Church. Likewise, she has pursued extensive theological study, including coursework at the Duke University Center for Spirituality and completion of a Master of Divinity in 2015 at the Ecumenical Theological Seminary. Ms. Jemison considers her faith to be the bedrock of her success and passion for social justice. Moving forward, she aims to continue utilizing all of her skills and talents to guide others and inspire social change in underserved communities. For nearly 30 years, the Rev. Regina D. Jemison, Esq., has found success in ventures as diverse as law, consulting and executive leadership. After achieving a BBA at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and a JD at the Wayne State University Law School, she entered private practice in 1995, focusing on family law, criminal cases and civil litigation. Ms. Jemison’s dedication to equity and service to her clients has been recognized throughout her career with numerous honors, including a 1997 NAACP Freedom Fighter Award for her work in civil rights litigation. In addition to her legal career, Ms. Jemison has been the chief operations officer of Swift Energy Works since 2019, where she specializes in consultation, design, installation, and maintaining electric vehicle chargers for public and private clients. The company was formed as the result of her earlier consulting work in the same professional sector. To wit, she and the company’s co-founders sensed the potential for growth, as well as a chance to create opportunities for electricians and entrepreneurs from underserved communities to enter the electric vehicle charging market.
