134 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ENERGY, ENGINEERING AND MANUFACTURING With a decade of professional experience to their credit, Vii Rice is a rising expert in the engineering industry. Specializing in polymer science and manufacturing, she has served as an instructor at the Pennsylvania College of Technology, their alma mater, since 2016. Prior to their current appointment, Ms. Rice excelled as a process engineer for W.L. Gore & Associates, Inc., at the onset of their career from 2013 to 2015. She originally joined the engineering company as a process engineer intern. Before embarking on their vocational journey, Ms. Rice pursued a formal education, beginning their studies at the Pennsylvania College of Technology and earning a bachelor’s degree in plastics and polymer engineering and technology, summa cum laude, in 2013. She received a master’s degree in the same areas of study at Lehigh University in 2022. Well-regarded for their accomplishments, Ms. Rice was honored with an Excellence in Teaching Award in 2022. Attributing much of their success to the support and guidance of their professor and colleagues, she looks forward to continuing their endeavors as an educator. Furthermore, Ms. Rice hopes to eventually earn a doctoral degree. INSTRUCTOR Pennsylvania College of Technology Williamsport, PA With more than five decades of professional experience to his credit, L. David Suits is a proven leader in the engineering industry. Specializing in geosynthetics and geotechnical engineering, he began his own business venture, LDS Geosynthetic Consultant Services, in 2016, where he continues to operate as an independent consultant. Prior to beginning his own enterprise, Mr. Suits excelled as an executive director of the North American Geosynthetics Society from 2005 to 2016. At the onset of his career, Mr. Suits served as a soil engineering laboratory supervisor for the Geotechnical Engineering Bureau of the New York State Department of Transportation from 1968 to 2005. As part of his vocational journey, he also cultivated his formal education, studying at Clarkson University and achieving a bachelor’s degree in 1967 and an MSCE in 1969. Among his accomplishments, Mr. Suits is well regarded for his scholarly output and his involvement with several industry-related organizations. To commemorate his achievements in the field, he has been honored with numerous accolades, including previous recognition as Engineer of the Year.
