At the onset of his career, he worked as a printer for Hadassah International Ltd. in New York City from 1990 to 1993. In his other noteworthy professional endeavors, Mr. Muniz is the founder of the Westchester Hispanic Law Enforcement Association, the first Hispanic police organization in the county. To commemorate his accomplishments, he was recently featured in the 2022 Westchester Power 100, and he has received numerous honors for his investigative work and community involvement. Attributing his success to all those who have helped him throughout his time in the field, Mr. Muniz is particularly proud of his work as a consultant for the International Association of Police Academies, and he is grateful for being invited to The White House in Washington, DC, on three different occasions. Luis A. Muniz Jr. has cultivated a fulfilling career in the fields of public safety and law enforcement, with more than 30 years of professional experience to his credit. Now retired, he previously served as an officer in the White Plains City Police Department, as part of the City of White Plains Department of Public Safety, in New York from 1993 to 2019. Prior to his retirement, he operated as a detective sergeant in the department. Throughout his time in the field, Mr. Muniz specialized in criminal investigations, and as part of his duties, he managed a 12-person squad of fellow officers. Adjacent to his duties as an officer, Mr. Muniz has maintained his position as the owner of the Security Escort Associates since 1998. Additionally, since 2015, he has served as the president of the Yonkers Hispanic Cultural Foundation Inc., an organization dedicated to advancing participation in and understanding of Hispanic and Latino cultural traditions throughout the state of New York. The group places a great emphasis on arts and preserving cultural affiliations in Yonkers and Westchester County. Prior to embarking on his vocational journey, Mr. Muniz pursued a formal education.
