Additionally, she has been a member of the Gannon University Heritage Society since 2018. Well-regarded for her scholarly output as well, Dr. Dudzinski has offered her expertise in the publication of numerous articles and papers in professional journals. To commemorate her achievements, Dr. Dudzinski has been honored with a plethora of accolades, most recently including a 50-Year Award from Gannon University in 2019. Likewise, in accounting for her accomplishments, she is particularly proud to have been named the first woman participant in the United States-USSR Joint Oceanographic expedition to the Bering Sea. In the coming years, Dr. Dudzinski looks forward to further enjoying her retirement by gardening and spending time with her family. Drawing upon over four decades of professional experience, Dr. Diane Marie Dudzinski has cultivated a fulfilling career in the field of education. Specializing in biology — particularly micro and marine biology and environmental studies — she previously served as a biology professor at Washington State Community College from 1991 until her retirement in 2012. She also excelled as a professor at Mercyhurst University from 1986 to 1991. Over the course of her career, Dr. Dudzinski worked with such other notable universities as the College of Santa Fe, Manhattan College, Pace University and Ladycliff College. As part of her vocational journey, Dr. Dudzinski pursued her own higher education, originally studying at Villa Maria College (now part of Gannon University) and earning a Bachelor of Science in 1968. She subsequently continued her studies at Fordham University, where she achieved a Master of Science in 1970 and a PhD in 1974. In addition to her academic credentials, Dr. Dudzinski is also certified as a secondary school teacher in the states of Pennsylvania and New York.
