SCHALL, PHD FOUNDER, LEAD CONSULTANT SOS Consulting LLC Front Royal, VA For more than 15 years, Dr. Susan O. Schall has thrived as the founder and lead consultant of SOS Consulting LLC. She specializes in helping small and medium-sized manufacturing companies improve the productivity of their daily operations while transforming into a place where people flourish along with profits. Dr. Schall also focuses on leadership, regularly providing individualized coaching and mentoring services to business leaders from various industries including chemical, food and beverage, automotive, nonprofit and higher education. Prior to the formation of SOS Consulting, Dr. Schall excelled as the methodology director of R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company for several years. She had previously found success as a technical superintendent of control systems engineering at DuPont de Nemours Inc.’s Washington Works’ chemical facility in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Dr. Schall has additionally held leadership positions at General Electric Lighting and the Eastman Kodak Company. Alongside her responsibilities as a consultant, Dr. Schall was appointed as a board member of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology Inc. between 2005 and 2008 after serving on their engineering accreditation commission for more than five years. From 2003 until 2014, she contributed to the Harold and Inge Marcus Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University on the industrial and professional advisory council. Dr. Schall was also elected as the president of the aforementioned university’s Engineering Alumni Society in 1998, which had initially recruited her as a board member in 1991. Moreover, Dr. Schall has served as the chairperson of the staff-parish and finance committees of the Front Royal United Methodist Church and as the treasurer of the Northern Shenandoah Valley American Society for Quality, Section 131. She had previously served as the founding chairperson of the aforementioned section between 2001 and 2003 and as the chairperson of the American Society for Quality’s Freund-Marquardt Medal committee.
