She had previously been honored with an Outstanding Engineering Alumna Award on behalf of Penn State’s College of Engineering and a Distinguished Service Award on behalf of Penn State’s Engineering Alumni Society. During her tenure at DuPont, Dr. Schall was celebrated with a Silver Award and Bronze Award for Engineering Excellence. In addition to her notable communication skills, Dr. Schall attributes a great deal of her success to her persistence. In the coming years, she intends to play a central role in the growth of small manufacturing companies across the United States. She also aims to expand her personal brand through presentations and authoring a book on the essentials of healthy manufacturing. until 2017, Dr. Schall also participated on the Warren County Public Schools’ Project Lead the Way partnership team, helping high school students explore careers in the engineering and biomedical fields. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from The State University of New York at Fredonia in 1981, Dr. Schall followed the advice of her father to pursue a career in engineering. She subsequently completed a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Science and a PhD in industrial engineering at the Pennsylvania State University’s College of Engineering. Following graduation, Dr. Schall served as the chairperson of an advisory committee for the Penn State Women in Engineering program. In 2018, Dr. Schall was selected for a Medallion Award by the Institute of Industrial and Systems
