Additionally, she remains active with several industry-related organizations, including Daughters of the American Revolution and several environmental organizations, such as CASE, a local group in South Carolina. In accounting for her professional achievements, Ms. Ayers is particularly proud of her work in reforming and improving law enforcement in South Carolina. In light of her accomplished career, she has largely attributed her success to her courage and passion for helping others. Looking toward the future, she hopes to continue improving the lives of others and creating a better world for future generations through advocacy initiatives and other community work. With more than four decades of professional experience to her credit, Marilyn Gabbard Ayers has cultivated a fulfilling career in the nonprofit industry. Since the 1980s, she has excelled as the executive director of Palmetto Alliance Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to community service and betterment. As part of the group’s focus, Ms. Ayers and her colleagues pay attention to various official announcements, meetings and actions and accordingly notify community members with pertinent information. In her other vocational endeavors, Ms. Ayers previously ran as a candidate for the state senate in South Carolina on the Republican ticket. During this period, she took part in various community operations, including a visit to a commercial hazardous waste landfill facility, which was located over an aquifer for the City of Sumter’s drinking water facility. Under her careful watch, Ms. Ayers saw that the landfill facility was closed. This kind of community work played a large role in her eventual participation with Palmetto Alliance Inc.
