Aside from her primary vocation, Ms. McGuireNelson serves as an ambassador for the dfree® Global Foundation Inc. and as a board member and secretary for Deaf Matters. In addition, she maintains membership with the Order of the Fishermen Ministry-Home of Love, through which she previously served as a spiritual and life skills leader for young girls from ages 8 through 11 for nearly 20 years. Today, she continues to serve on multiple committees. Ms. McGuire-Nelson is a certified aromatherapist through the Applied Aromatic Institute and has leveraged her knowledge of aromatherapy to teach others. She is also a member of the National Association of Holistic Aromatherapy. To prepare for her career, Ms. McGuire-Nelson pursued a formal education at the University of Michigan, receiving a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She subsequently earned a master’s degree in social work from Wayne State University. Other credentials have also included graduate certificates in infant mental health, alcohol and drug abuse studies, and gerontology. Furthermore, Ms. McGuire-Nelson possesses a certificate in core supervision from the National Association of Social Workers and a certification in financial social work from the Center for Financial Social Work. Moreover, she is a diabetes prevention program lifestyle coach and is ordained through the Universal Life Church. In the coming years, Ms. McGuire-Nelson would like to expand her scope of work in aromatherapy and reach a wider audience. Danyielle M. McGuire-Nelson possesses over 25 years of practiced expertise in the field of public service. Since 1997, she has served the State of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
