310 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine SOCIAL SERVICES AND NONPROFIT With over 45 years of professional experience to her credit, Margo Taylor-White has cultivated a fulfilling career as a funeral home manager in Chicago, Illinois. She originally began her career at the Taylor Funeral Home in 1978, where she worked as a funeral director, learning every phase of the business until 2009. The business was originally founded by her father in 1963 and featured three locations throughout Chicago. After exiting from her position for six years to help raise her granddaughter, Ms. TaylorWhite later returned to the company as an office administrator in 2015. She continues to maintain the responsibilities of her position today, as well as co-owner following the death of her father in June 2022. As part of her vocational journey, Ms. Taylor-White previously pursued a formal education. At the onset of her collegiate career, she studied at North Park University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in child development in 2005. She subsequently concluded her studies at Full Sail University and achieved a Master of Arts in creative writing in 2011. In addition to her academic credentials, Ms. Taylor-White is also a licensed funeral director and embalmer. Ever committed to her professional endeavors, Ms. Taylor-White maintains membership with the Illinois Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. Likewise, she is a former member of several local community organizations. In her civic-minded pursuits, she is the founder of White Girls and One Guy (a nonprofit organization), and she regularly volunteers with causes to help homeless individuals, single mothers and at-risk teenagers. Furthermore, Ms. Taylor-White is a prolific writer, looking forward to publishing her first book in two years. To commemorate her accomplishments, Ms. Taylor-White was previously honored with a Certificate of Recognition for Outstanding Leadership. Though she did not originally intend to become a funeral director, she is glad to have discovered her passion for her work as she learned about the industry throughout her career. Looking toward the future, Ms. TaylorWhite intends to restore the funeral home to its former glory, and she hopes to continue her efforts with her nonprofit organization.
