Dedicated to building emotional resilience and an appreciation for inner strength within her clients, Mrs. Steele is a noted expert in evidencebased practices and trauma-informed theories to support nervous system regulation. Prior to her current endeavors at Rivertown, which began in 2018, Mrs. Steele worked on behalf of the United States Department of Defense as a civilian employee, where she treated active-duty military personnel, veterans and their families for several years. In this capacity, she received several certificates of appreciation for her work and built her skills by simplifying complex behavioral coping methods to allow for easier application in everyday life. Mrs. Steele was first steered toward a career in social work after a college mentor helped her gain insight toward how to turn obstacles into opportunities. She initially studied at East Carolina University, where she earned a BSW in 2010. Following this accomplishment, she went on to attain an MSW, summa cum laude, at the University of Alabama in 2013. Long dedicated to continuing education and self-improvement, Mrs. Steele is pursuing coursework toward her doctorate and remains affiliated with the National Society of Leadership and Success, the largest leadership honor society in the United States. In accounting for her professional success, Mrs. Steele credits her unwavering faith in Christ for the strength to balance her career and personal life. She has built a solid backbone of grit and tenacity, which has allowed her to continue discovering avenues to help others find prosperity beyond their pain. Looking toward the future, she aspires to speak further on subjects of connection between mind, body and soul. She believes in a holistic approach to mental health and strives to incorporate whole body healing when treating mental health disorders.
