CAIRNS Drawing upon three decades of experience, Heather J. Cairns has cultivated a fulfilling career in real estate. Specializing in real estate development and interior design, she has served as the president of Coastal Streets, a company based in the region north of Boston, since 2015. Prior to her current appointment, she was recruited by the founders of Google to implement and run their human resource practices from 1998 to 2005. She was also part of Keiretsu, an organization of HR professionals in Silicon Valley. She championed disadvantaged women through Dress for Success and was an angel investor for female-led companies. Before beginning her career, Ms. Cairns earned a BFA in painting and art history at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 1988. She also completed a graduate program at the School of Museum of Fine Arts, part of Tufts University, in 2009. Additionally, she holds certificates in interior design and human resources. Well-regarded for her civic-minded attitude, she has participated in the New World Foundation for environmental enterprises, as well as funded local contemporary art initiatives. She is particularly proud of her leadership in creating the Mariner, a senior assisted living community in Marblehead, Massachusetts. Recognized as a licensed real estate agent and certified financial planner, Brace Kae Case, Esq., has excelled as the president of the Independence Real Estate Corporation since 1980. Specializing in real estate and leadership training, he previously served as the founder and president of the Oakland Mortgage Company between 1991 and 1999. Earlier in his career, Mr. Case was involved in security sales and investment consulting for various security firms between 1974 and 1996 and lent his expertise to Oakland University as a professor of financial planning, a position he fulfilled for 10 years. Likewise, he was chair of Valley Property Management from 1980 to 1990. Outside of his vocational efforts, Mr. Case has served as an arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau since 2010 and for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority since 1980. He is also recognized as a national account executive for Dart Appraisal. To prepare for his career, Mr. Case received a BSBA from Central Michigan University and later earned a JD from the Michigan State University College of Law.
