286 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine SCIENCES, PHARMACEUTICALS AND BIOTECHNOLOGY Leveraging over five decades of professional experience, Dr. Ahmed Fouad Abdel-Magid is a proven expert in the field of chemical process research. In January 2024, he joined PI Health Sciences Ltd. as a member of the scientific advisory board. From 2009 to 2023, he was the executive vice president and chief scientific officer of Therachem Research Medilab, having also previously worked at Johnson & Johnson Services Inc. from 1987 to 2008. Additionally, Dr. Abdel-Magid was a senior chemist at Wyeth Laboratories (now operating under Pfizer Inc.) between 1986 and 1987. He also taught at Drexel University from 1985 to 2006 as an adjunct professor of chemistry and at Cairo University between 1969 and 1976 as an instructor. Dr. Abdel-Magid originally earned a BS in chemistry and applied chemistry and an MS in chemistry at Cairo University in his native home of Egypt in 1969 and 1973, respectively. Continuing his studies during the early stages of his career, he achieved a PhD in organic chemistry at Temple University in 1980. Well-regarded for his scholarly output, Dr. Abdel-Magid has since published 40 articles in professional journals, in addition to inventing 29 issued U.S. patents and editing and co-editing for 10 books. Dr. Abdel-Magid is a member and fellow of the American Chemical Society (ACS), as well as its division of organic chemistry and its Philadelphia section. Likewise, he is a member of the Philadelphia Organic Chemists’ Club. He also previously served as an executive officer for the 39th National Organic Chemistry Symposium in 2005. To commemorate his accomplishments, Dr. Abdel-Magid has received numerous honors, including the Johnson & Johnson Philip B. Hofmann Research Award, the Philadelphia Organic Chemists’ Club Award for outstanding contributions to organic chemistry, and the ACS-Philadelphia Sectio Award for conspicuous achievement through research. Dr. AbdelMagid attributes much of his success to his dedication, intellect, and commitment to science and research. DR.
