Prior to his current appointments, he worked with LinkedIn in several key engineering roles from 2016 to 2021. Before LinkedIn, he made strides in developing high-speed mobile phones at Qualcomm, which serves millions of smartphones all over the world. At the onset of his career, Mr. Vijayanathan served as a game development intern at War Drum Studios in 2010. Likewise, he was a student software developer for BlackBerry the same year. As part of his vocational journey, Mr. Vijayanathan pursued a formal education, originally earning a bachelor’s degree in information technology at Anna University in 2009. He subsequently continued his studies at the University of Florida and achieved a master’s degree in computer engineering in 2011. Well-regarded for his scholarly output as well, Mr. Vijayanathan has authored numerous papers and articles pertaining to his work in the field, including his 2016 article for the IEEE, “Characterizing Emerging Markets: An Evaluation of TCP congestion control with real internet traffic over HTTP2.” In addition to his senior membership within the IEEE, he is also a trustee and distinguished member of many other impactful technology organizations, such as the Applied Innovation Consortium and The American Society for Artificial Intelligence. Attributing much of his success to the support of his family and friends, he continues to strive toward developing technology for social good and equal opportunities for all. With over 15 years of professional experience to his credit, Prasanna V. Vijayanathan has cultivated a fulfilling career in the software engineering industry. Since 2023, he has served as a level five software engineer at Netflix, having originally joined the company in 2021 as a senior software engineer.
