After seven years, he became the most qualified teacher in the school district. Eventually, he immigrated to Canada and earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance from McMaster University. Employed by Consumers Distributing Company, Mr. Ramsaroop moved to Highland Park, New Jersey, in 1979. His only dream was to afford his two daughters a high school education. They did so well that his eldest daughter, Nanda, received a scholarship to the Boston University School of Medicine, graduating with her MD in 1995. His youngest daughter, Sharda, was given a scholarship to the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, graduating with her MD in 2001. She proceeded to work at NewYorkPresbyterian Hospital in New York, receiving the Physician of the Year Award in 2007. Yuvraj Ramsaroop leverages more than 30 years of practiced expertise as a gifted writer and author. Over the course of his career, he has published numerous books through companies such as Xlibris, Fulton Books and the CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform. Chief among his many projects, Mr. Ramsaroop notably published his autobiography, “Realizing the American Dream: The Personal Triumph of a Guyanese Immigrant,” in 2012. The book shares his victory as a Guyanese immigrant who takes readers on a journey to realizing his definition of the American Dream and fulfilling his ambitions. Mr. Ramsaroop’s other releases include “The Message: A Tale of an Old Man and His Dreams” in 2012, “A Christmas Wish for Nisha: The Story of a Boy Who Wrote a Letter to Santa Claus” in 2019, and “Miracle on the Train Track” in 2019. Furthermore, he co-authored the 2014 book, “Please Don’t Pull the Plug: A Mother’s Last Ounce of Courage.” Mr. Ramsaroop hopes to see some of his books eventually adapted into film. Born on October 29, 1946, Mr. Ramsaroop is a third-generation descendent of indentured laborers, originally brought from India to work on sugar plantations in British Guiana (now Guyana).
