CATANIA-STEPHENSON With over 30 years of professional experience, Andrea J. CataniaStephenson is well-regarded for her practiced experience in the field of education. Since the onset of her career in 1990, she has excelled as a national board-certified teacher librarian, working at San Juan Unified School District from 1998 to 2007 and 2011 to 2021 until her retirement. The in-between years, she spent as a children’s and school services manager at a public library. She has proudly been a member of the California School Library Association since 1994. Ms. Catania-Stephenson is dedicated to her profession and is an active member of several pertinent organizations, including CUE, WASC, IASL, ALA and the American Association of School Librarians. Over the years, she continued to cultivate her formal education by obtaining two education master’s degrees and a master’s degree in library and information science from the University of North Texas. In light of her fulfilling career, Ms. Catania-Stephenson largely attributes her success to her passion for her profession. Likewise, she is particularly proud to have received a National Award from the American Library Association as the 2016 recipient of the Innovative Reading Grant. Drawing upon over three decades of professional experience, James D. Cowley has cultivated a fulfilling career in the field of education. He recently joined FSS as a continuing education instructor in 2021. From 2020 to 2022, he excelled as the executive director of MorningStar Senior Living, and between 2019 and 2020, he was an administrator for Psynergy Programs. Prior to his more recent appointments, Mr. Cowley excelled as the director of residents and family services at Silverado from 2015 to 2017. Before embarking on his vocational journey, Mr. Cowley pursued a formal education, ultimately earning a degree in psychology and therapeutic recreation at the University of Northern Colorado in 1993. In addition to his academic credentials, he also holds several pertinent certifications, including as a Texas Assisted Living Manager and in community residential care. In light of his fulfilling career, Mr. Cowley has largely attributed his success to his father, who instilled in him a dedicated work ethic.
