104 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION Educating others is the core component of Dr. Michael Vincent McCabe’s service. In the U.S. Army, he received a Distinguished Instructor Award from the Quartermaster School. Later, he helped develop the first gifted/talented program for schools in Charlottesville, Virginia. As a member of the U.S. State Department’s Foreign Service, he received five Meritorious Honor Awards while serving in Washington, D.C. and in U.S. embassies in Manila, London, New Delhi and Tokyo. Overseas, Dr. McCabe reported on political, military, economic and scientific developments, negotiated with foreign governments, and participated in public speaking engagements. In Washington, he led U.S. delegations to telecommunications meetings in Europe and Asia. Later, as president of a local Maine Chamber of Commerce, Dr. McCabe received awards from the Maine Tourism Association and the Maine State Chamber of Commerce for increasing regional tourism. Today, he works as a high school teacher in Virginia. A lifetime member of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), Dr. McCabe holds four college degrees. He has also authored academic articles, published an annual tourist guide for Down East Maine, and delivered presentations to the SAR, military groups, high schools, universities and business conferences. HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER Loudoun County Virginia Well-versed in the musical arts, Dr. Andy McCullough is a rising leader in the field of music education. She recently joined the Omaha Public Schools in Nebraska in 2023 as an instrumental music teacher. Prior to her recent appointment, she taught choir, band and general music for students in third through 12th grade at another local rural school. In her own creative endeavors, Dr. McCullough premiered her first electronic piece, “Melting Clocks,” at the 14th Annual Electronic Music Midwest Conference in Chicago in 2014. Prior to embarking on her vocational journey, Dr. McCullough pursued a formal education, earning both a BA in music and a MusB in trumpet performance at Washburn University in 2011. She subsequently attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she achieved a MusM in composition in 2013 and a DMA in 2017. In addition to her academic credentials, Dr. McCullough is fully certified to teach music. She remains affiliated with the National Association for Music Education; the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers; and the Nebraska Music Education Association.
