Mehrotra has cultivated a career of excellence in the field of energy. Specializing in business management and energy efficiency, he has served as the president and chief executive officer of the General Energy Corporation, based in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, since 1985. The company is well regarded for pioneering the latest in green energy solutions and new, efficient solar energy system designs. Since he originally founded the corporation, Mr. Mehrotra has personally overseen many of the company’s innovations and initiatives, utilizing his skills as an engineer and business leader. To this end, his business has completed over 900 clean energy projects for clients throughout the state of Illinois since its inception. As part of his primary professional endeavors, Mr. Mehrotra also founded the Grant Park Wind Farm in Kankakee County, where he oversaw operations from 2013 to 2018. Prior to his current leadership appointments, Mr. Mehrotra excelled as a co-founder and senior vice president of Energy Resources + Planning, Inc., from 1980 to 1985. Furthermore, at the onset of his career, he was an engineering supervisor for Sargent & Lundy Engineers in Chicago between 1970 and 1980.
