149 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ENTREPRENEURS Ernestine Washington Edmond leverages nearly two decades of experience as a thriving restaurant manager. Since 2005, she has served as the owner of Mama E’s Bar-B-Que & Home Cooking. Based in Fort Worth, Texas, the local establishment is wellregarded in the community for its delicious selection of soul and comfort foods. Furthermore, Ms. Edmond has cemented a positive reputation in her community thanks to her dedicated customer service. Ms. Edmond originally began her career as a restaurant owner because of her love for cooking. Her husband and youngest daughter, both of whom have served in the United States Army, also played a huge role in the beginnings of her business, serving as a constant source of support and inspiration. She continues to utilize her unique background and skills to bring her quality cooking to others in her region. Outside of her primary vocational interests, Ms. Edmond remains involved as a civic-minded citizen, regularly participating in and volunteering with local organizations. To this end, she and her oldest daughter began a local book club, where they meet with fellow community members and discuss literature and other issues, both personal and social. The group also works together to feed homeless individuals and help others throughout their neighborhood. In light of her fulfilling career, Ms. Edmond has largely attributed her success to her mother, from whom she learned to be moral and kindhearted. As such, her mother never turned others away; Ms. Edmond learned to do the same. Likewise, in accounting for her accomplishments, she is proud to be one of four generations in her family who have worked in the restaurant business. In the coming years, Ms. Edmond hopes to open a second location for her restaurant.
