152 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ENTREPRENEURS Dr. Alexandra McDermott has cultivated a fulfilling career as a multifaceted professional. Specializing in business ownership, she serves in several key leadership positions, having founded three new businesses between 2022 and 2023. Most recently, she became the founder and owner of Pen Crown Publishing and McDermott Leadership and the founder of American TopNotch Management Worldwide Leadership. She also serves as the owner of Serendipity Enterprises LLC, Elevate DNA and Her Dragon, and in 2015, she joined the American Public University System (APUS) as a faculty member. Dr. McDermott constantly strives to promote positive global leadership, women’s empowerment, social justice and animal advocacy. Similarly wellregarded for her creative output, she has assisted in the publication of numerous books, notably co-authoring the 2017 work, “Looking Beyond the Academic Institution for Retention and Student Engagement Models: A Study of Employee Engagement in a Rapidly Growing Worldwide Marketing Company.” Additionally, she contributed chapters to several 2023 books, including “Fearless Female Leaders,” “Do More Stupid Things” and “My Mess is My Message II,” which have all become bestselling publications. Dr. McDermott earned several degrees throughout her academic journey. These include a JD from the Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law, an MFA in creative writing and writing for the performing arts from the University of California, Riverside, and a global executive EdD from the University of Southern California. Additionally, she holds several certifications in integrative health coaching, dog training, image consulting and life coaching. Dr. McDermott was honored with an Integrity Award from APUS in 2022, as well as the Tommy Trojan Award while she was teaching for the Organizational Change and Leadership Doctoral Program at the University of Southern California. She also received distinction from the IAOTP as the 2023 Global Leader and was inducted by Passion Vista as a 2023 Global Icon. Though she is proud of her professional accomplishments, she is particularly grateful to be a mother of six amazing children and a grandmother to one incredible grandchild. Looking ahead, Dr. McDermott hopes to continue advocating for further improvements in education, health care, women’s empowerment, social justice and animal rights. DR.
