In his other professional endeavors, Mr. Chorney is the founder and president of the Cumberland Investment Corporation, which he began in 1981. As part of his duties with the company, he provides a variety of consultation services pertaining to business and market investments, similar to his other positions. To wit, he has also served as a leader for the National Center for Bankruptcy Accountability since 1990 and the Registered Tangible Investment Advisors Association since 1983. Mr. Chorney also previously excelled as the chief executive officer of Wescap Enterprises Ltd. from 1984 to 2010. Before embarking on his vocational journey, Mr. Chorney pursued a formal education at Brown University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Russian studies in 1961. Furthermore, he honorably served in the United States Air Force for 13 years, during which time he achieved the rank of captain after flying 37 missions in Vietnam. Committed to his various professional endeavors, Mr. Chorney remains affiliated with the American Numismatic Association, the American Philatelic Society, the Gemological Institute of America, Inc., and Veterans of Foreign Wars. To commemorate his accomplishments, Mr. Chorney was honored with an Award for Excellence in Consumer Education in 1988 and 1989. Likewise, he received an Expeditionary Medal following his esteemed military service. Attributing much of his success to his persistence and dedicated work ethic, Mr. Chorney is particularly proud to have founded The Money School of Boston, which presented him with a Certificate of Appreciation in 1985.
