Specializing in consumer banking, he has served as the senior vice president of Synovus Financial Corp. since 2013. In his leadership role, he primarily manages small business lending and strategy procedures, as well as consumer lending services and other special projects for the financial consulting organization. Adjacent to his primary professional endeavors, Mr. Sheffield also remains active as the vice chairman of the Georgia Bankers Association. Prior to entering the field of banking, Mr. Sheffield excelled as an expert in the engineering industry. To this end, he operated as an engineer for Schneider for 20 years. As part of his vocational journey, he also pursued a formal education, originally earning a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at Georgia Southern University. Continuing his studies at his alma mater, Mr. Sheffield later achieved a Master of Business Administration in 2003. In recognition of his accomplishments in the field, Mr. Sheffield has been honored with several accolades over the course of his career. Notably, in 2019, he was selected for an award from Leadership Georgia out of 2,600 other potential candidates. Likewise, he was featured in a 40 Under 40 list in 2014, the same year he also won a Customer Covenant Award. In light of his fulfilling career, Mr. Sheffield has largely attributed his success to the culture of his company, which has allowed him to naturally thrive in the banking industry. In the coming years, he hopes to continue serving as a positive influence for others and helping individuals with their various business pursuits.
