187 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine GOVERNMENT AND MILITARY With nearly four decades of professional experience to his credit, Joey L. Jerome has accumulated a rewarding career in military service. Since 2020, he has served as the director of military relations operations for the Armed Services YMCA in San Diego, California. As part of his duties in the field, he oversees daily operations within the organization, which provides a variety of human resources and social services to military families. Chief among these services is food distribution, with which Mr. Jerome works closely. Adjacent to his primary endeavors, he also continues to work as a freelance operator. As part of his vocational journey, Mr. Jerome honorably served in the United States Navy from 1985 to 2009. During his time in the field, he participated in four combat tours overseas and acted as a leader for many Marines and fellow sailors. Furthermore, he excelled as a chief hospital corpsman and a medical marine special operations team member. After retiring from his service in 2009, Mr. Jerome remained dedicated to serving others, especially his fellow veterans and other military personnel. In addition to working with several Chambers of Commerce in his region, Mr. Jerome was a docent for the USS Midway Museum from 2010 to 2018. In his other civic-minded endeavors, he has worked as a manager for the equine-assisted therapy training program at the Horse of the Sun Ranch. Ever committed to his industry, Mr. Jerome remains affiliated with the National Association of Social Workers. He also previously pursued a formal education, originally earning an undergraduate diploma in criminal justice and administration at the University of Phoenix in 2013. He subsequently continued his studies at the University of Southern California and achieved a Master of Social Work in 2016.
