Likewise, Mr. Pierce has also held various alternative roles as needed throughout his tenure at the clinic. Before entering the health care industry on a full-time basis, Mr. Pierce excelled as a mailman for his local post office in Vancouver, Washington, for 22 years. Furthermore, he honorably served in the United States Army from 1990 to 2020, achieving the rank of staff sergeant. To commemorate his dedicated military performance in the Army and Army Reserves, he was honored with several accolades, including a Joint Meritorious Service Medal, five Army Achievement Medals and two Armed Forces Expeditionary Medals. More recently, he also received a Meritorious Service Medal. As part of his vocational journey, Mr. Pierce cultivated his formal education. He originally began his studies at Washington State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology in 1999. Subsequently attending the University of Phoenix, he ultimately achieved a master’s degree in psychology in 2014. In addition to his academic credentials, Mr. Pierce is also a certified recovery mentor (CRM), a certified level two alcohol and drug counselor (CADC II), and a qualified mental health professional (QMHP-C). Outside of his primary duties in the field, Mr. Pierce maintains his dedication to civic advocacy, regularly participating with the St. Helen’s Alano Club, a local nonprofit organization. In light of his fulfilling career, he has largely attributed his success to his perseverance, integrity and ability to connect with others. In the coming years, Mr. Pierce hopes to obtain a doctorate in psychology.
