262 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine LAW AND LAW ENFORCEMENT Prior to embarking on his vocational journey, Mr. Custer cultivated his own higher education, originally earning a BA in political science at the University of Northern Iowa in 1983. He subsequently continued his studies at the University of Arkansas and achieved a JD in 1989. Additionally, he would later receive an MLIS from the University of Missouri in 1991 and an MBA from The University of Kansas in 2012. In addition to his academic credentials, Mr. Custer has also been admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States, and he is licensed to practice law by several bar associations, including The Missouri Bar. To commemorate his accomplishments in the field, Mr. Custer has been honored with several accolades, many of which were awarded to him for his written works. Attributing much of his success to his persistence, compassion and dedication, he is particularly proud to have been awarded for Paper of the Year in 2009 from the American Association of Law Libraries. Having accrued more than 30 years of professional experience, Joseph A. Custer is a proven expert in the field of education. Specializing in academia pertaining to law, advanced legal research and technology, he has served as an associate professor of law and the director of the Judge Ben C. Green Law Library at Case Western Reserve University since 2015. As part of his duties in the field, Mr. Custer administers the library staff, in addition to teaching his students and conducting field research. Similar to his current appointments, Mr. Custer previously excelled as an assistant professor of law and as the director of the Immel Law Library at the Saint Louis University School of Law from 2010 to 2015. Likewise, he was the associate director, head of technology services and a lecturer at the Wheat Law Library, as part of The University of Kansas School of Law, between 2008 and 2010. At the onset of his career, Mr. Custer served as an attorney and as the director of information services at the Gage and Tucker Law Firm in Kansas City, Missouri, from 1991 to 1995. JOSEPH A.
