In accounting for his accomplishments, he attributes his success to his understanding of the intertwined nature of different technologies. In the coming years, Mr. Margolin hopes to further expand the RoboKind brand. With over 20 years of professional experience to his credit, Richard J. Margolin is a proven expert in the field of robotics. In 2011, he co-founded RoboKind, an education technology company that specializes in building next-generation assistive robots and social-emotional curriculum tools for students with autism. Mr. Margolin has served as the chief technology officer for the company since its inception, and in 2021, he took on the role of chief executive officer. In his leadership positions, he oversees hardware and software development, in addition to plotting a path for future products and business initiatives. Since beginning his career in 1999, Mr. Margolin has worked with many institutions and technology developers. At the onset of his career, he founded Duct Tape Things, where he served as a production manager and designer until 2003. He later joined The University of Texas at Dallas, where he briefly worked as a research intern at the school’s Nanotech Institute between 2003 and 2004. He was also a senior design team leader at The University of Texas at Austin in 2010.
