32 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ARTS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT Drawing upon over 40 years of professional experience, Craig Allen is an expert in the field of meteorology. Since 1981, he has served as the chief meteorologist for WCBS Newsradio 880, as part of Audacy Inc., where he prepares and delivers weather forecasts and other essential reports for regular network broadcasts. He is on air from 5-10 a.m. and from 4-7 p.m. weekly. Additionally, since 2018, Mr. Allen has also provided forecasts for News 12. Over the course of his career, Mr. Allen has worked with several other noteworthy broadcasting networks, including PIX11; WLNY-TV55, as part of CBS Broadcasting Inc.; and FOX 5 New York. As part of his dedication to his profession, he has also remained affiliated with several organizations, including the American Meteorological Society, the National Weather Association, The Press Club of Long Island and NYPC. Prior to embarking on his vocational journey, Mr. Allen pursued a formal education, earning a bachelor’s degree in earth and space sciences at Stony Brook University in 1979. In addition to his academic credentials, he earned a Radio Seal of Approval and a TV Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society in 1981 and 1985, respectively. Outside of his primary professional interests, Mr. Allen has also remained dedicated to civic advocacy. To this end, he has participated as a gardener for his Hometown Civic Association since 2012, and he has been the Long Island Chapter Walk Emcee for Autism Speaks Inc. since 2000. Furthermore, he has long been a supporter of the Island Harvest Food Bank and the Cradle of Aviation Museum, as well as several animal rescue and safety organizations. In recognition of his achievements, Mr. Allen has received numerous accolades over the course of his career, including most recently placing first with the Press Club of Long Island for his coverage of the tornado outbreak in 2022.
