326 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine TRANSPORTATION With more than 35 years of professional experience to his credit, Christopher L. Gibbs has cultivated a fulfilling career in the field of finance. Since 1993, he has excelled as an online traffic coordinator for the United States Department of Commerce, a role in which he assists customers with routing and setting up contracts. Additionally, he maintains shipping programs and assists in bill payments for services provided by third-party carriers. Mr. Gibbs has otherwise worked with the department since 1989. In his other professional endeavors, Mr. Gibbs operated with the National Weather Service Warehouse for several years during the early stages of his career. Likewise, he was a department manager for K-Mart Grandview from 1987 to 1989. Adjacent to his primary work in the field, Mr. Gibbs also remains active as a civic-minded citizen, having participated as a congregational financial officer for his local Community of Christ Church. Furthermore, he is the vice president of the director’s board of the Open Arms Theater. As part of his vocational journey, Mr. Gibbs pursued a formal education, originally earning a bachelor’s degree in business management at the University of Phoenix in 2004. He subsequently continued his studies at his alma mater and achieved dual master’s degrees in business management and administration in 2006. To commemorate his accomplishments in the field, Mr. Gibbs was honored with an award for migrating a major warehousing system from Kansas City, Missouri, to Silver Spring, Maryland. In light of his fulfilling career, he is particularly proud of all the work he has conducted to help his community and the agency.
