After his retirement from the food service industry, Mr. Couch dedicated himself fully to photography and has excelled as the owner and photographer of Jeff Couch Food Images since 2014. Working out of his studio in Palm Desert, California, he is a certified professional commercial and fine art food photographer, through which he leverages his expertise to shoot products, plated food, interiors and industry events. Over the course of his photography career, his portfolio has expanded to include still-life and action photographs. Mr. Couch often shoots in his studio with a commercial kitchen backdrop and is available on location per his clients’ requests. To prepare for his career, Mr. Couch pursued a formal education at Fanshawe College in Ontario, Canada, where he received chef training. He also earned a certification with distinction as a professional commercial photographer from the UCLA Extension in 2016. Likewise, he maintains an active affiliation with the Professional Photographers of America and American Photographic Artists. In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Couch has received a myriad of accolades. In 2017, he earned a Photography Award from American Photographic Artists Awards, and in 2018, he was named among Foodelia Top 10 Best. Notably, Mr. Couch was bestowed with International Color Awards in 2019, 2020 and 2021 and was published in One Eyeland’s 2019 Best Photographers. Most recently, he was highlighted by LensCulture for his eminent work. In the coming years, Mr. Couch intends to shoot photographs for cookbooks and continue highlighting his work in trade magazines and other publications. Drawing upon over 40 years of professional experience, Jeff Couch is currently recognized as a prolific and award-winning photographer. Having spent the former stages of his career in the food service industry, he previously served as a chef, working in kitchens of numerous noteworthy eateries and establishments.
