With more than 40 years of professional experience to her credit, she currently serves as the senior director for journalism, sustainability and partnerships at the Miami Herald in Florida. She originally joined the esteemed publication at the onset of her career in 1983, working as a travel editor until 2009. Between 2008 and 2021, she also served the company as a business editor. Adjacent to her primary duties, Ms. Wooldridge has served as the owner of Five Stars to Under the Stars, her digital travel blog, since 2011. As part of her dedication to her profession, Ms. Wooldridge has participated extensively with the Society of American Travel Writers Foundation, having held several noteworthy executive-level positions within the organization throughout her career. She also previously pursued a formal education, achieving a Bachelor of Arts in history and public policy, magna cum laude, at Duke University in 1980. Well-regarded for her professional achievements, Ms. Wooldridge was named the Lowell Thomas Travel Journalist of the Year for 2006 and 2007. As an artist, she specializes in realistic oil paints and watercolors. Her work can be found in Roger’s Frame Shop and Gallery in Ocala, Florida. She previously presented her work in many other exhibitions, in addition to illustrating several books. Presently, she fulfills her time by painting and teaching art. She also co-hosts a podcast, “The Nancy & Mike Show,” with Bold Brave Talk. In her endeavors as an actor, Ms. Zorick has made numerous film, television and theater appearances. Chief among these were her roles in “Outside Chance” in 1978, “Jackson County Jail” in 1976 and “My Sweet Charlie” in 1968. To commemorate her artistic achievements, she has been honored with several accolades, including being inducted into the Taft Alumni Association Hall of Fame in 2000. Ms. Zorick also completed coursework at The Art Institute of Chicago from 1965 to 1967, The Second City, Inc., between 1967 and 1968, and the American Academy of Art in 1971.
