Thiels is a proven leader in the fields of finance and marketing. When leaving 12 years of banking experience, he founded The Transinvest Corporation in 1993, which led to him subsequently co-founding The Transinvest Group LLC one year later. In 2008, he began unwinding Transinvest and decided to refocus his efforts. Since 2011, Mr. Thiels has served as the managing director and co-founder of Ponte Capital LLC, a consulting firm that specializes in providing solutions and services for the acquisition, management and oversight of new or ongoing or restructuring financial holdings. Mr. Thiels originally began his career in 1979 after his high school graduation in Frankfurt, one year interning in Paris, and graduating from the European Business School (EBS) after eight semesters in Frankfurt, Paris and London. He then completed two years of a post-graduate trainee program at Commerzbank AG in Frankfurt, two years as a branch manager in Viernheim, and then two years at IKB Deutsche Industriebank AG as a regional manager for corporate lending. In 1985, Commerzbank AG hired him back for U.S. corporate lending in New York City. In 1988, he was promoted again and became branch manager and senior vice president of corporate lending of the Southeast United States in its Atlanta office. Throughout his time in the field, Mr. Thiels has excelled in arranging and completing multi-billion-dollar loan deals and syndications, having worked alongside brands such as The Goodyear Company, Goldman Sachs and Texaco, as well as major Texas-based oil companies. In light of his fulfilling career, Mr. Thiels has largely attributed his success to his flexibility and open-minded attitude. While he is grateful for his many professional accomplishments, he is most proud to be a father of four children.
