Anderson has cultivated a fulfilling career in the field of education, leveraging more than two decades of professional experience. From 2001 to 2022, he excelled as a professor of economics at Frostburg State University, specializing in regulation, mid-economic analysis and general economic history. Since retiring from teaching in 2022, he has maintained the title of professor emeritus at the university. Shortly after exiting his academic position, Dr. Anderson joined the Mises Institute as an editor and fellow, in which he reviews new submissions for scholarly articles pertaining to his field. He was recently promoted to senior editor. In his other professional endeavors, Dr. Anderson is also a former member of both the American Economic Association and the Southern Economic Association. Adjacent to his primary duties, he has remained active in his community as a civic-minded citizen. To this end, he has served as a deacon and trustee with the Williams Memorial Church of God in Christ in Sacramento, California, for many years. Having previously pursued his own higher education, Dr. Anderson originally earned a Bachelor of Science in journalism at the University of Tennessee in 1975. He subsequently continued his studies at the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business at Clemson University, where he received a Master of Arts in economics in 1984. Dr. Anderson ultimately concluded his collegiate career at the Harbert College of Business at Auburn University, achieving a PhD in economics in 1999. In light of his achievements, Dr. Anderson has been honored with several accolades over the course of his career, including a University Academic Award from Frostburg State University in 2011. In accounting for his accomplishments, he has largely attributed his success to his commitment, and he is particularly proud to have served as the chairman of the university’s promotion and tenure subcommittee. In the coming years, Dr. Anderson looks forward to continuing his work in publishing, and he hopes to mentor future generations of economists and writers.
