79 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION Bolstered by over two decades of professional experience, Dr. Lillian Ramos Figueroa is a proven expert in the field of education. For 20 years, she has served as an ESE inclusion teacher for the Hendry County School District in Florida. Well-regarded for her expertise, she specializes in special education, primarily teaching students with autism. Likewise, she is well-versed in curriculum development and counseling. Adjacent to her primary duties, Dr. Figueroa also provides various therapeutic services for students as needed. Prior to becoming an educator, Dr. Figueroa gained valuable experience as a legal administrator. In her own academic pursuits, she originally earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at Lee University in Tennessee. She subsequently continued her studies at Florida Gulf Coast University and received a master’s degree in various exceptionalities. In conclusion of her collegiate career, Dr. Figueroa achieved a PhD in organizational leadership at Grand Canyon University. Ever committed to her professional endeavors, Dr. Figueroa remains affiliated with the National Education Association. Outside of her primary efforts, she continues to serve her community as a civic-minded citizen, regularly volunteering as an organizer for various Hispanic heritage celebrations. To commemorate her accomplishments in the field, she has been honored with several accolades, including nominations at her school as the Most Influential Teacher in the Second Grade in 2023 and as the Hispanic Teacher of the Year in 2013. Though she is abundantly proud of her many professional achievements, Dr. Figueroa is especially proud of her daughter. To this end, she was inspired to earn a doctoral degree and become an educator when she learned her daughter has autism. Additionally, she maintains her pride in her students and their success. Looking toward the future, Dr. Figueroa hopes to participate in more collaborative efforts with her fellow educators and community members. DR.
