90 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION Bolstered by over 25 years of professional experience, Narine Sarkissian has cultivated a fulfilling career in the field of education. Since 2001, she has served as the president, chief executive officer and owner of the U.S. Ling Institute. Since its inception, the English as a Second Language (ESL) school, located in Salt Lake County, Utah, has been dedicated to providing higher education, training and guidance to all manners of students. Ms. Sarkissian originally founded the institution alongside her sister, Susanna McPhilomy. Originally from Armenia, Ms. Sarkissian immigrated to the United States in 1993 to continue her pursuits of her own higher education. To this end, she attended Brigham Young University, where she achieved a master’s degree in linguistics in 1994 and a Master of Business Administration in 1996. In addition to her collegiate credentials, she has also been accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training. Prior to beginning her own academic organization, Ms. Sarkissian served as a corporate finance analyst for the Huntsman Corporation from 1998 to 2001. To remain abreast of developments in her industry, Ms. Sarkissian maintains affiliation with several pertinent organizations, including EnglishUSA, the TESOL International Association, and NAFSA: The Association of International Educators. Likewise, she continues to serve her community as a civic-minded citizen, participating as the Utah state chair for The Armenian Assembly of America since 2016 and volunteering with various human rights groups in Utah since 2005. To commemorate her accomplishments in the field, Ms. Sarkissian was named among the Top 20 Outstanding Women CEOs by The Women Leaders Magazine in 2022. In light of her fulfilling career, she has largely attributed her success to the guidance of her mentor, Jon Huntsman Sr. Furthermore, in accounting for her achievements, she is particularly proud to have thrived as a woman in corporate and academic environments.
