In addition to her collegiate credentials, she holds several certifications, having been verified by edX in public financial management, sustainable urban development, and social, economic and foreign policy. In honor of her accomplishments, Ms. Woodhouse was honored with an Excellence in Education Award. She has largely attributed her success to her family, who instilled in her a sense of community and have served as a source of support and inspiration. Ms. Woodhouse hopes to earn a PhD in the coming years. With more than a decade of professional experience, Claudette Woodhouse is an expert in the field of education. She currently serves as a teacher for the Norfolk Public Schools in Virginia, having recently joined the school network in 2022. Additionally, since 2020, she has been a board member of The Solidarity Initiative, and in 2018, she became a full-time teacher for Horizons Hampton Roads, Inc. In her various professional endeavors, Ms. Woodhouse has specialized in economics and educational leadership and administration, utilizing her skills to guide curriculum creation and other learning initiatives for students. Prior to her current appointments, Ms. Woodhouse was a teacher for the Portsmouth Public Schools from 2017 to 2022. Furthermore, she initially joined Horizons Hampton Roads as a high school aide at the onset of her career in 2009. Since then, she has worked with the organization as a program site assistant, teacher assistant and high school coordinator. Ever dedicated to her professional endeavors, Ms. Woodhouse remains affiliated with the National Education Association and the Virginia Education Association.
