Prior to her current appointment, Ms. Stewart operated as a trauma nurse at the Johnson City Medical Center from 2008 to 2011. Likewise, she worked at Mountain States Health Alliance Home Health between 2011 and 2012. She was also as a case manager for the Johnson City Medical Center from 2012-2013, assisting with utilization review and discharge planning. Adjacent to her primary duties, she remains active in various civic-minded endeavors. To this end, Ms. Stewart is well-regarded for volunteering at her local children’s school and her church. As part of her vocational journey, she also pursued a formal education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Milligan College in 2008. From an early age, Ms. Stewart derived a wealth of fulfillment from helping others. She originally began such ventures around the age of 14, volunteering at the Bristol Regional Medical Center, where she worked in the emergency room as an assistant to the staff during check-in processes. She later joined a local pharmacy during high school and realized nursing was a perfect fit for her passion and skill set. In light of her accomplished career, she has largely attributed her success to the support of her family, as well as her persistence, dedicated work ethic and passion for her profession. In accounting for her achievements, Ms. Stewart is particularly proud to have earned her nursing degree.
