550 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS In 1989, Mr. Taylor began an augmented career in managed care, serving as the president and chief executive officer of three firms: ColumbiaFreeState Health, The Preferred Health Plan and the statewide Alpha Health Plan of Florida. From 2001 to 2022, he was the chief operating officer of the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC), the operational, training and advocacy arm of the country’s CHCs. Mr. Taylor’s team at the NACHC engineered and developed a primary health system that supported low-income communities for 30 million people, tripling their patients in those 20 years. When asked about the factors that led to his success, Mr. Taylor credits the examples and expectations of his parents, as well as his solid education and unselfish mentors. Furthermore, he is thankful for his devoted teams of staff members committed to strategic goals, along with his professional and personal friends. Lindsay David Taylor Jr. is an executive with wide-ranging experience and interests, ranging from the Apollo program to government affairs, international development, banking and health care. After graduating from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 1967, he began operating as a business associate at U.S. Steel in 1968. As a student engineer during the same year, Mr. Taylor worked at the NASA complex that launched AS202 to test the safe reentry of Apollo capsules. He would ultimately achieve an MBA at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College in 1969. Mr. Taylor began his work with the government in Washington, DC, at the United States Department of Health, Education, and Welfare (HEW) in 1970. After 9 years of diverse functions, his final appointment at the department was as the deputy assistant secretary for management. He also served as a programming officer for the World Bank, the director of examinations and supervision of the Federal Home Bank Board, and the executive vice president for retail banking at Perpetual Savings Bank.
