URMENETA, RN Lorenza G. Urmeneta, RN, leverages over six decades of dedication to the field of nursing. Currently, she excels as a minimum data set (MDS) coordinator for the Sutton Park Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, bearing a wealth of prior experience in MDS protocols — a standardized assessment of an adult’s functional, medical, psychosocial and cognitive status. She previously served in similar roles at a number of health care facilities, beginning at the Buena Vida Continuing Care and Rehabilitation Center in 2001. Before her work there, Ms. Urmeneta held positions of nursing leadership at several nursing homes. Among her most cherished accomplishments, Ms. Urmeneta is especially proud to have served as the head nurse of an emergency room, where she encountered numerous challenges and met them with decisiveness and compassion. In accounting for her success, she largely credits her persistence, passion for continuing education, and nature as a perfectionist. In the coming years, Ms. Urmeneta aspires to continue contributing to the health care industry for as long as possible and to remain abreast of the latest developments in MDS coordination and nursing. Richard E. Wade, RN, CPC-A, is a nurse auditor with more than 20 years of clinical and supervisory health care expertise. He entered nursing in 1998 as a medic for the Vermont Air National Guard and the United States Navy Reserves after spending 13 years with General Electric, IBM, and Dynapower. In 2001, he joined the Central Vermont Medical Center as a medical-surgical registered nurse, spending two years in direct patient care until an injury led him to consider administrative positions including finance and Medicare reimbursement. Mr. Wade is a certified professional coder and spent five years as an auditor and analyst for Care Resources before accepting his current position as a nurse auditor for Central Vermont Medical Center, overseeing compliance, third-party audits, and special billing projects. He emphasizes the need for curiosity and a strong moral code in order to succeed in healthcare and plans to remain active in his field for years to come.
